Leonardo I. Rodriguez

Mr. Rodriguez, currently serving as Deputy Executive Director, has been with the Jewish Board of Family & Children’s Services for the last 25 years in multi-service capacities. JBFCS, one of the nation’s premier mental health and social service agencies, offers a diverse network of more than 185 community-based programs, residential facilities, and day treatment centers.

In 2005, Mr. Rodriguez was appointed as the Assistant Executive Director of JBFCS, and the Children’s Residential Treatment Division. This division includes Residential Treatment Facilities, a Residential Treatment Center, Group Homes, Community Residences, and a Diagnostic Center. He is also responsible for the Westchester Division for Developmental Disabilities, the Children’s Day Treatment programs, and Preventive Services.

During his tenure at the Jewish Board of Family & Children’s Services, Mr. Rodriguez has served as Assistant Director of both the Jerome M. Goldsmith Center for Adolescent Treatment, and Linden Hill Residential Treatment Facilities. He has also served as Associate Director of the Residential Treatment Facilities, Director of Hawthorne Cedar Knolls Residential Treatment Center, and the Westchester Division for Developmental Disabilities. Mr. Rodriguez has developed systems of treatment, and integrated clinical services in a number of residential treatment settings. He has developed multiple capital projects and proposals, and ensured regulatory compliance with mental health and child welfare regulatory bodies. He also established a training program geared toward the management of seriously aggressive, conduct disordered adolescent boys. He has developed a Continuing Program Improvement (CPI) system as an integral part of his management. In the mid eighties, Mr. Rodriguez created a Community Support Service Program for persistently and severely ill adults.

He is the Chair of the Residential Treatment Facilities Committee for the New York State Coalition for Children’s Mental Health Services, and has served as the Co-Chair of the Child Welfare League of America’s Mid-Atlantic Public Policy Committee. This committee looks at how each state can influence the national agenda and also determine what the national agenda is in relation to children. Mr. Rodriguez is a member of CWLA’s National Advisory Committee on Public Policy, in Washington, DC. Mr. Rodriguez has co-authored and presented papers, in national forums, on models of care and initiatives that have been developed under his leadership.
