RN Supervisor

Responsible for the day to day supervision of the program’s nursing and milieu staff regarding all medical procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
a) Oversee all aspects of the medical/nursing department(s) in the Bais & Gan ICF.
b) Participate in the evaluation of JBFCS or JBFCS-contracted medical staff
c) Provide medical representation at IDT meetings
d) Oversee pharmacy reviews and medication security procedures
e) Insure that hospitalized clients receive timely and appropriate care
f) Work closely as a liaison with program physicians and psychiatrists as well as clinical team.
g) Manage prescription system for all program medical providers and psychiatrists
h) Assist in providing direct medical services when there is an unexpected vacancy in nursing staff because of an absence
I) Coordinate with school nurses, nursing care and medical requirements for all residential clients who attend outside educational facilities
j) Oversee implementation of specialized (e.g. Physical and Occupational) therapy for clients
k) responsible for guaranteeing infection control policy for BAIS & GAN ICF.
l) Assure that all medical problems are communicated to the ADON/DON, physician and administrator as necessary, including follow up.
m) Develop and monitor nursing schedules for Mishkon ICF.
n) Provide guidance and assistance to consultant pharmacist during medication and consumer chart audits.
o) Ensure that all medication and treatments in BAIS & GAN ICF are administered appropriately and in accordance with facility policy and ICF/DD standards. Will be involved with direct medication administration as assigned or as needs dictate.
p) Will carry a beeper and be on call for his/her program
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum educational level of a BSN or RN. Position requires specialized expertise in the area of mental health, developmental disorders. In addition, individual should be familiar with standard reporting requirements as dictated by those bodies to whom the division is accountable. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience required.
