From a Child's Point of View: An In-Depth Exploration of Feelings Using the Reggio Emilia Approach
Over the course of the year a 4/5’s class explores the powerful emotions that emerge for them on a daily basis. In-depth classroom discussions, story acting, and the incorporation of meaningful values into classroom curriculum leads to “The Boxes Show”, a performance of several stories written by the children. Lori Schneider, MS, MPA, Director and Miriam Kalmar, MS, Assistant Director both of the Stephen Wise Early Childhood Center share how the principles of the Reggio Emilia Approach are evident throughout this yearlong investigation.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at UJA Federation and costs $30. Upcoming workshops will cover Addressing Aggression, Rough and Tumble Play, and Superhero Activity in Preschool (February 1, 2012) as well as Using Music to Promote Emotional Expression and Build Social Skills (April 18, 2012).
