Assessment and Treatment of Young Children (birth to five) and their Caregivers Affected by Trauma and Violence
Regional senior trainers* in Child‐Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) developed by Alicia Lieberman, Ph.D. and Patricia Van Horn, Ph.D., authors of Don’t Hit My Mommy: A Manual for Child‐Parent Psychotherapy with Young Witnesses of Family Violence. Training includes didactic workshops and on‐going case consultation
including:
- Core competencies in assessment of young child‐parent relationship development
- Impact of stress and trauma on brain development
- Target and goals of Child‐Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) for trauma
- Intervention strategies and domains of intervention
In addition, preliminary training in an overview of child development and play therapy can be provided for staff not trained in work with very young children.
