Loss and Bereavement Group Model Training
In this course, clinicians will build their capacity to facilitate short-term loss and bereavement groups for children and adolescents. The L&B group model provides a safe forum for children and adolescents to share their experiences with death and loss, discuss their worries and fears, and develop coping skills. Training participants will be guided through the L&B group model including group formation, the group process, methods for addressing uncomplicated mourning and traumatic bereavement, and expressive arts activities. The Childhood Traumatic Grief and Ambiguous Loss course is a pre-requisite for this class. Other childhood bereavement trainings may also meet this requirement, with trainers’ approval.
