Make a difference in the life of a child. "Bigs" are role models who provide consistency, trust and support to children, "littles," ages 7-16. |
Volunteers must be 21 years of age Commitment of two weekend afternoons per month with "little," for a minimum of one year |
Doula to Accompany and Comfort

Doula volunteers are assigned to visit seriously ill individuals who have a life expectancy of 18 months or less. Doulas provide compassionate companionship and support that minimizes a person's sense of fear, isolation, and loneliness at this stage of life. |
Volunteers must be 25 years of age Volunteers must attend 8 week training course and subsequent on-going support and educational groups Commitment of 18 months after training |
| Young Adult Tutor |
Manhattan |
Mentor volunteers work with young adult men ages 17-21, helping build life skills such as resume writing and job preparedness. |
Volunteers must be 18 years of age Volunteers must vist 1-2 times per month over a one year comittment |
